I carefully placed one foot in front of the other as I crossed the living water. There was a slight wobble from time to time, but that’s OK. No one is expected to get it entirely right on every occasion.
You held out your hand to steady me, and I smiled and gratefully accepted your help.
Now there are two of us crossing over on the stepping stones.
I’ve learnt the rhythm. Not too fast and not too slow. Checking for loose stones or ones that unexpectedly rock, or slippery ones carpeted with moss. Each stone has its own character and provides its own challenge.
When I was younger, I could confidently leap from stone to stone. Now it takes a little longer.
The rushing of the stream hasn’t changed. The clear water moving constantly to its unknown destination tempts us further along.
What exactly will we find on the other side? The mystery awaits us.
I am very happy to have you join me on this journey.
I could, of course manage on my own, but the company is great, the conversation stimulating and the support an added bonus.
Please don’t fall behind as we reach the final stones.
Soon we will discover what lies across the water, the end of the ethereal rainbow, the source of life itself. Could it be the best part of this journey?
